The Cowan Academic Challenge is a program offered as another way to challenge our students and engage them in fun academic activities. Open to all 3rd, 4th and 5th graders, the program runs from March 14th through May 12th and consists of various academic events: geography, math, reading, public speaking, and the Super Quiz. Students must compete in all events.

Preparation for the events will take place outside of regular classroom assignments. Our classroom teachers will not be responsible for teaching the subjects. A series of monthly lunchtime meetings will be used to distribute study materials and administer the tests. After the entire competition, we will have an awards night to give out medals to the winning students. Each student will receive a medal for participation. Additional medals will be given for high achievement.
